Whilst gliding along majestically through our beautiful green English countryside, one can be forgiven for desiring just a splash of natures other vibrant colours, peeking out from the undergrowth.
However the canal isn’t always the place to spot such frivolities, and certainly they were not originally “cut” for the purpose of being admired as places of natural beauty.
It is good that Mother Nature takes over eventually and creates a silk purse from an industrial pig’s ear.
To lend a helping hand, in the early days of canal use, people would add pots of fresh bright flowers onto the decks of their boats, in fact many still do.
For some it’s a real challenge to create a really lovely picture sailing through the water, and one to which many enthusiasts rise magnificently.
This was really brought home to us when we had the pleasure of meeting one of our most prestigious customers. Terrence Edgar.
Terrence is an artist, with a very fine pedigree, as he is quite possibly the best painter of Buckby ware in the country. We have the honour providing him with our very own unpainted metal Buckby ware which he then customises with his own unique Artwork.
Beautiful old roses, daisy’s and leaves, swirl in abundance over a glossy painted base of blue, green, red and black. Of course these beautiful and highly desirable items of Buckby ware look equally delightful in gardens, on patios, terraces and the smallest of balconies and of course , brimming with cut flowers, inside the home as well !. The hard work has all been done for you; all you need is a little imagination!!!
Please note most of the canal ware is for decorative purposes only.
