Although, nowadays, many games are played sitting down quietly, or using a computer, the skill of pressing the correct button cannot compare to being out in the sunshine, and navigating a brightly coloured wooden ball, successfully around several hoops on a beautifully manicured lawn.

Consider a well aimed rubber coit, sailing through the air and landing plonk, on your chosen spike, to cheers and shouts from family and friends. Who’s a real hero then?
