Since time began, man has fought to control many of Mother Nature’s creations, including the elements. Wonderful complicated Rain Dances, Rituals involving sun worship, the list is quite endless. Have we succeeded???? . With the inability to avoid many of the worlds weather induced tragedies, we would sadly have to concede No. We have simply become more adept at studying what influences the weather and how best we can lessen its impact on our lives.

Some of us, however, don’t really want to change the weather, rather we just want to observe. We want to watch the clouds scudding by on a windy day. We want to watch the leaves being pulled and tugged on a brisk autumn day. We want to sit and admire the swirling flakes of the first snowfall of winter. We want to raise up our eyes today and know which way the wind is blowing……….

We like to observe here at Black Country Metal Works, but we also know we don’t want a weather vane that is just an uninspired piece of metal work, bolted unceremoniously onto our beautiful home, our summerhouses and conservatories. We want a weathervane that is reflective of who we are, and something of quality and stature. Fortunately, we only create quality and stature here. We take huge delight in designing and creating lovely weathervanes. Our faithful customers take the same delight when standing back to admire their chosen weathervane rising proudly from their abode. We do however recommend our customers provide sunglasses for their visitors, in order to prevent claims for sunlight eye damage whilst being unable to stop admiring the New weathervane. There have also been cases of black eyes, from lampposts, small pets, and garden implements lying around. Still this is possibly a small price to pay for such a majestic addition, For those of us who don’t have their noses in the air, we have created a range of gorgeous free-standing garden weathervanes, these can be admired from the relative safety of your kitchen window if necessary.

There are many things in this life that we cannot be certain of, the direction and play of the wind need not be one of them.!!!!!!!!

P.s. we cannot predict the direction and cause of wind created inside the home. This will require an air freshener, we don’t make these, sorry!
