Reminiscent of long, hot summer afternoons, gentle breezes, delicious picnics, and the melodious strains of a much-loved tune floating out across the lawn of a traditional English garden, Lady Leticia's dream carousel is a beautiful reminder of the splendour and captivation of the old English "Bandstand". While this wonderful, traditional piece of history is slowly disappearing, here at Black Country Metal Works, we are proud to present our own tribute to this fascinating piece of English heritage.

Her shaped and fluted columns have been crafted in detailed galvansied steel, whilst her skirts, scrolled panels, and delicately worked freeze have been made in wrought iron. Her delightful carousel top has been created using individual panels of fabricated steel, worked and shaped to form the iconic shape of the much-loved carousel. Finished in an antique cream, this bandstand would make a delightful and captivating addition to any home.


To appreciate her in her full-skirted glory, we recommend seating her on her own raised platform where she can continue to weave her magic and mystery for years to come. We recommend a regular light maintenance schedule in order to keep the gazebo in pristine condition, usually involving a single coat of a metal-based paint within 3/6 months after installation and then bi-yearly or as required. For outdoor items, weathering may occur over time as the item is exposed to wind, rain and other natural elements. Delivering & Installing Large Structures/Sculptures

For large structures (such as gazebos) and sculptures, we always advise that delivery and erection is organised with us. Although this carries an additional cost as it involves a specialised team and equipment, it will greatly reduce the likelihood of any difficulties arising.

Before booking in the erection team, it is essential that you have fully prepared the area for their arrival. You must ensure that:

- The base or fixings pads and level and down and the concrete is fully cured.
- There is adequate access to the erection location.
- There is sufficient flood lighting should it be required.
- There is available support staff to assist.
- There is access to electricity.
- There will be sufficient space around the edge for ladder equipment etc. (we suggest that the space for erection is a minimum of 2m wider than the structure itself).
- The area is cordoned off to the public to allow safe erection of the structure and your own risk assessment needs to have been carried out prior to the team’s arrival on site.

There should be a senior person (or owner) on site should any questions emerge, and to sign off the work at the end of the installation.

If you would prefer to erect the structure yourself, or through using third-party labour, it is your sole responsibility if any issues arise, and we cannot be held responsible for said issues.

If you or your third-party labour workers have no previous experience of erecting such structures, we would recommend that a qualified Health & Safety Officer is present, along with a qualified Engineer to oversee proceedings.

Should you choose to erect the structure yourself, our advice and directions should be obtained well in advance of starting the erection process. If our team must be organised to correct the structure or complete its erection, please contact us so that a quotation and advanced payment can be organised.

Delivery Services

Please note, our third-party couriers DPD, have advised that their drivers are operating to a tight schedule and therefore will only attempt delivery once. This initial delivery timeframe will be provided via text message or email from DPD through their tracking service. In the event that you are not home, the courier, DPD, will take the parcel to a local drop off point, on average a 5-mile radius from the original delivery point. You, the consignee will be notified via text message to say the parcel has been taken the local drop off point as no one was home. With this, a second text message will be sent to say the parcel has arrived at the designated drop off point and location details will be shared. At this time, it is up to you, the consignee, to collect the parcel within 7 days. After 7 days, the parcel will be returned to Black Country Metal Works whereby a maximum of 25% restocking fee may be charged and fees will apply for resending. We accept no responsibility for DPD courier services.

Standard Delivery

For items which are up to a shoe box in size, we do make every effort to dispatch in 48 working hours. Items which are larger are generally dispatched within 7-10 working days as finishing and packaging work may take significantly longer. Delivery is kerbside only.

During the busiest times of year (i.e. Christmas) this may take longer due to circumstances beyond our control. We will endeavour to contact or inform you whenever any items fall outside this 7-10 working day range or if an item becomes unavailable, due to another local works or artist for which we rely upon them for all or component parts of a product.

Orders with a made/prepare to order lead time will be dispatched together, once the last item has been completed in production.

Free Next Day & Next Day Delivery

We will make every effort to ensure that your item is dispatched and delivered next day. This will happen 99.9% of the time. Occasionally due to circumstances outside of our control i.e. raw material supplies, labour, courier breakdown etc. The next day delivery may not occur. We cannot take responsibility where this is not been achieved but will make every effort to ensure your item reaches you as quickly as possible. Delays arising with the courier or Royal Mail are outside of our control and are not completely unavoidable.

Next day delivery is only available to mainland UK addresses (this does not include the Scottish Highland's or Island's, Ireland, Scilly Isle's, Channel Island's or the Isle Of Man). If an order is placed containing these places you may be contacted for extra delivery payment.

Products with a Made to Order lead time will be dispatched on a next day delivery service as soon as the product is ready. Lighting products may require a lead time to produce and will also be sent on a next day service where available as soon as the product is ready.

In some cases, if an order contains multiple items this could override the free delivery or free next day delivery option depending on the weight and size of the overall order. Orders with a made/prepare to order lead time will be dispatched together, once the last item has been completed in production. If you have any further questions about this, feel free to get in contact with us.

We may rely on local works to supply or create certain items and this can, at times, cause unexpected delays which are outside of our control. Any potential delay will be advertised with an approximate lead time on our website. Failing this, our customer service team will be in touch at the earliest opportunity to advise any delays or alternatives that are immediately available.

International Delivery

We offer an international delivery service to the following locations; Ireland, Spain, France, Germany & Italy. Due to the complex nature of our products and the variation in global shipping charges, additional payment maybe required. Duty and custom charges may be required on arrival If your location falls out of these locations, customers can arrange for their own courier collection or provide a UK-based freight forwarder address. We ask that customers send us details and confirmation of their courier booking for authorisation. For consignments travelling to overseas destinations, we recommend the goods be inspected and repacked in accordance with the local import legislation at the destination before shipping on. Please note, that you will need to cover any local charges that may be needed for local duties, customs or clearance charges. Once the parcel has been collected by the courier of your choice or delivered to the freight forwarder address, we, Black Country Metal Works are no longer responsible for the parcel and cannot accept returns or refunds where the item is damaged by courier.

Christmas Delivery

We will endeavour to dispatch all goods ordered before our annual Christmas shut down . For made/prepared to order items, please allow an extended 2-week lead time due to the works Christmas shutdown.

For all regular orders placed after Monday 18th December, it is difficult to guarantee pre-Christmas delivery. We do rely on national couriers to deliver to our customers and this process is normally completed within 48 hours of dispatch. Please note that couriers can experience slight delays due to the large influx of deliveries at this time of year.

Returns Information



Christmas Returns

All orders received after the 22nd of December will be processed after the 3rd January 2024, including those with Free Next Day Delivery. All items ordered from the 1 December 2023 to the 10 January 2024, will be eligible for our extended returns policy of 28 days. Any items purchased outside of this date bracket, which are wished to be returned, will come under our standard returns policy of 14 days. All returns must be done through our returns and refunds policy.

Changed Your Mind – Don’t worry.

If you change your mind about the product you’ve purchased, don’t worry you have 14 days to return the product to us without question. Please just ensure that the goods are returned safely and in a resalable condition, we recommend using a tracked delivery service. For customers outside of the European Union goods can only be returned if faulty.

Faulty Goods

If your goods arrived damaged or only in part, please sign for the goods as “damaged”. Please notify us within 48 hours of receipt. Please carefully re-pack the goods, in their original packaging, or packaging of a suitable nature as to fully protect the goods on their return journey to us. Once the goods arrive safely back with us, they will be inspected and if found to be either damaged or faulty you will be offered a replacement or refund.

Bespoke & Made to Order Goods

Due to the nature of Bespoke and Made to Order Goods, we are not able to accept returns as these may have been manufactured especially for you. Where local works or artists have been used, these too may not accept returns as the item may have been especially prepared for you. In some circumstances, works and artists may hold stock and so returns may be accepted on a case by case basis. Made to Order incorporates both products and raw material which is made for you or ordered for you
