The highland cow, colloquially referred to as ‘helian coo’ is a Scottish breed of rustic cattle. Deriving from the Scottish Highlands and the Outer Hebrides, this breed of cow features long wavy, woolly coats with large shaped horns. Originally bred for milk and meat, the highland cow is said to the be the oldest registered breed of cattle in the world.
