Product Information
Looking for an exciting way to get your creative juices flowing? Discover the fascinating craft of blacksmithing in our interactive forge! With our extensive knowledge of metalwork and our passion for creativity, our blacksmith sessions offer an experience like no other whether you’re looking to try out something new, hone a different skill or bolster your previous experience. We offer a number of blacksmithing experiences to suit a range of skill levels, from beginners to the well versed. As well as offering an unforgettable experience for you, these sessions also make for a thoughtful and unique gift for the creative one in your life.
Each experience ticket covers the cost of tuition and the materials required to create your own item to take home with you. The sessions can last from just a few hours to a full day in the forge depending on your individual interests, skill level and goals. Alongside one of our resident blacksmiths, you will learn the basics of the craft before being challenged to create something of your very own. Depending on the session type you pick, you could make the likes of a coat hook, toasting fork or iron poker. We aim to tailor each session to you as much as possible, so the possibilities are almost endless!
Once your session has been purchased, you will receive a confirmation email from ourselves detailing your order number. All experiences must be booked in before arrival. Please email us at sales@blackcountrymetalworks.co.uk or call us on 0800 6888 386 to book in your preferred date and timeslot.
Your confirmation email will act as your ticket so please ensure you bring this along with you on the day. If you are purchasing this as a gift and would prefer to have a voucher, these can be collected in our showroom using your email as proof of purchase.
Please note that classes will be held with a maximum of two people per session and grouped depending on experience level. Missed appointments are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. As you will be working in a genuine forge, you will be asked to sign a waiver form upon arrival for health and safety purposes.
Taster Session
Price: £65
Duration: 2 Hours (to arrive 15 minutes before the session starts)
These two hours are ideal for beginners looking to gain a new skill or wanting to try their hand at something a little different. This could be a toasting fork, poker or any other item you wish to create within the allotted time. A complimentary hot drink will be provided.
Like all our sessions, you will begin by going over some basic skills and safety precautions. From here the experience will include, but is not limited to, working your selected design within the searing coal of the forge, beating and shaping it at the anvil, and leaving it to cool.
