Crafted from solid cast iron and left finished in a untreated natural iron which will take on a natural patina over time, this quirky door knocker is the perfect way to add a touch of seaside charm to any property exterior. Beautifully detailed throughout, this door knocker takes on the shape of a traditional clam shell adorned with etched linework throughout. Hinged for ease of use, this design is ready to be mounted to any door where it will delight your guests and visitors alike for many years to come.

This product has been designed to age naturally and develop its own patina over time. For authenticity, this product is supplied unlacquered and has, instead, been expertly hand waxed. This wax serves as a basic protective layer against moisture however, if exposed to the outdoor elements for prolonged periods of time, this item will develop a surface rust. If required, the wax layer can be removed using a light oil such as WD40 with a fine-grade wire wool and then re-finished with a metal-based paint. Featuring a monkeytail design lever and fleur-de-lis styling on the curved back plate, all necessary matching fixings are provided for ease of installation. The natural textured finish faithfully reproduces the unique patina of the iron and is intended for internal use. If used externally maintain the finish by applying a good quality Maintenance Wax and by wiping periodically with a lightly oiled cloth.
