Chromed for a highly polished and reflective look the sea horse door knocker is an attractive addition to any front door. An interesting addition to coastal properties or holiday homes in particular, it can be fitted to doors with narrow central panels due the slimness of its design. The swirled tail acts as a beater against the supplied striker stud. Cast in solid brass with a chrome finish applied.

Decommissioned in 2009, HMS Exeter was a type 42 destroyer, the fifth in the series to be named Exeter by the Royal Navy. Known for her operations in the Falkland War and first Gulf War, this ship continued to assist in the training of new naval base tugs. Highly detailed throughout, HMS Exeter (D89) is encased within a circular frame along with choppy waters. Crafted from solid cast iron and left finished in a untreated natural iron which will take on a natural patina over time, this quirky door knocker is the perfect way to add a touch of seaside charm to any property exterior. Beautifully detailed throughout, this door knocker takes on the shape of a traditional clam shell adorned with etched linework throughout. Hinged for ease of use, this design is ready to be mounted to any door where it will delight your guests and visitors alike for many years to come.

This product has been designed to age naturally and develop its own patina over time. For authenticity, this product is supplied unlacquered and has, instead, been expertly hand waxed. This wax serves as a basic protective layer against moisture however, if exposed to the outdoor elements for prolonged periods of time, this item will develop a surface rust. If required, the wax layer can be removed using a light oil such as WD40 with a fine-grade wire wool and then re-finished with a metal-based paint.
