Your information will be stored securely by Black Country Metal Works Ltd (trading as the British Ironwork Centre) and will be updated or deleted upon request. Our handling time for requests for deleting or updating personal data is a maximum of one month. Subject access requests which may be deemed unreasonable maybe subject to charge.

WHAT PERSONAL DATA DOES BCMW COLLECT?

The personal data we collect directly from you, the visitor, can include the following information:

  • Full name and address
  • Telephone number and email address
  • Payment information
  • Business name & VAT number if a trade company
  • The information provided when you contact our customer service team
  • When you engage in our social media platforms
  • Planning support comments
  • Signature
  • Contact preferences
  • Membership data, as per your Membership Application form, including data of birth, hobbies and interests and any other information voluntarily provided by you.

If you are using a mobile device or PC whilst browsing or purchasing through our website, we may collect your IP address, browser type and version, country location including date and time, operating system, platform and the pages in which you enter and exit from our site. You also agree to tracking technologies which record and store information about your visit automatically. This can include using a ‘cookie’ which will be stored on your browser, however the information collected does not identify you as a person.   You can opt out of the use of cookies, more information on this process can be found here:  www.aboutcookies.org.  Without the use of cookies, some of the websites functionality maybe disabled.

HOW IS MY PERSONAL DATA USED AND WHY?

To make our products and services available to you:

We use your personal data to provide you with products, services and information regarding enquiries or purchases made from us for customer satisfaction.  This will include, but not limited to, completing certain enquiries, processing orders, online payment and delivering services.

For administrative purposes:

We may use your personal data for our internal business purposes, such as enhancing our website, improving products and services.  We may also use your data to monitor the use and efficiency of our website relevant for you and your viewing device.  It is in our legitimate interest as a business to use your personal data in this way. We want to ensure that our website is customer friendly and works properly with an assortment of devices in an efficient manner.

In relation to Membership to the British Ironwork Centre:
We use your personal data to inform you of the following:

-provide you with any marketing material
-measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and our advertising
-contact you in regard to centre events, membership updates and centre information

WHO DOES BCMW SHARE PERSONAL DATA WITH?

We will never sell any of your personal data to a third party. However, in order for us to provide you with the correct services for maximum customer satisfaction, we work with a number of trusted service provides who carry out services on our behalf. When you purchase products from us, the services provided by these organisations include deliveries and processing payments. It is in our legitimate interest as a business to work with these service providers as we may not have the capabilities to provide these services ourselves.

HOW LONG DOES BCMW KEEP PERSONAL DATA FOR? 

We will retain your personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes of the business.

In relation to Membership to the British Ironwork Centre, you, the visitor, can unsubscribe from of membership updates by following the link at the bottom of every email.  You can also request the cancellation of your membership and the deletion of your data at any time by contacting our data protection officer. Membership cards are renewed every 12 months.  Non members information is held and retained on site for a period of 3 months only. This personal data will not be shared and is for health and safety and insurance purposes only.

CCTV & PHOTOGRAPHY ON SITE

We use CCTV cameras on our site.  Please be advised we do take photographs on site. If you do not wish to have your picture taken, please inform a member of staff.  If you require further information, please contact our Data Protection Officer.

CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes we will let you know, but please reguarlly check this policy to ensure you are aware of the most updated version.
