We recommend all fire guards should be placed 50cm or more away from your fire and should not be exposed to a naked flame.

As with all of our bespoke designs, it all starts with you! Get in touch via email at sales@blackcountrymetalworks.co.uk and let us know what you’re looking for. We’ll need some photos or a sketch of your desired design and all necessary measurements. If you’re unsure what direction to go with your fire guard, our design team are always happy to offer guidance and will be willing to talk through any ideas with you. Please note that we cannot create anything that might infringe copyright laws.

Once we have agreed your enquiry, our talented in-house graphic designers will work alongside you to design your fire guard. They’ll transform the final design into a two-dimensional CAD file, ready for cutting on our CNC machine. Your design will then be cut on the machine using thick, high-grade steel and sent to our workshop for finishing.

In our workshop, our painting and finishing team will add any additional design elements to your guard, such as mesh and integral legs for stability, before sanding down to a create an even surface. Finally, your fire guard will be hand-painted and finished in your desired RAL colour.

This whole process will take approximately 3-4 weeks depending on the complexity of your design. As soon as your fire guard is finished, it’ll be hand-packaged then sent out to you by courier.

Cost will largely be determined by the complexity of your desired design and your required specifications. Every bespoke fire guard will be quoted at an individual basis, but prices will normally start from £175. This cost covers the design, production, delivery and a non-refundable £50 deposit.

Once we have received your design specifications, we will send you a quote which will include the non-refundable £50 deposit. If you are happy with the proposed cost, we will ask for you to pay for your fire guard in full before we begin the creation process. If you choose to cancel at any point, you’ll be refunded the full amount bar the £50 deposit.
