Standard Delivery 

For items which are up to a shoe box in size, we do make every effort to dispatch in 48 working hours. Items which are larger are generally dispatched within 7-10 working days as finishing and packaging work may take significantly longer.

During the busiest times of year (i.e. Christmas) this may take longer due to circumstances beyond our control. We will endeavour to contact or inform you whenever any items fall outside this 7-10 working day range or if an item becomes unavailable, due to another local works or artist for which we rely upon them for all or component parts of a product.

Free Next Day Delivery and Next Day Delivery   

We will make every effort to ensure that your item is dispatched and delivered next day. This will happen 99.9% of the time. Occasionally due to circumstances outside of our control i.e. raw material supplies, labour, courier breakdown etc. The next day delivery may not occur. We cannot take responsibility where this is not been achieved but will make every effort to ensure your item reaches you as quickly as possible. Delays arising with the courier or Royal Mail are outside of our control and are not completely unavoidable.

Next day delivery is only available to mainland UK addresses (this does not include the Scottish Highland's or Island's, Ireland, Scilly Isle's, Channel Island's or the Isle Of Man). If an order is placed containing these places you may be contacted for extra delivery payment.

Orders must be received before 2 pm. We recommend waiting until your item has arrived before arranging tradespersons. Orders that are placed after 2 pm on a Friday will be dispatched the next working day on Monday. Orders that are placed on a weekend will not qualify for free next day delivery. Please note: Black Country Metal Works do not operate on bank holidays and seasonal holidays. 

Products with a Made to Order lead time will be dispatched on a next day delivery service as soon as the product is ready. Lighting products may require a lead time to produce and will also be sent on a next day service where available as soon as the product is ready.

In some cases, if an order contains multiple items this could override the free delivery or free next day delivery option depending on the weight and size of the overall order. If you have any further questions about this, feel free to get in contact with us.  

Saturday Delivery 

Our Saturday Delivery option is a special service we provide (to certain locations only) for orders to arrive on a Saturday. They are sent on a before 12 pm service. This option can only be provided for telephone orders.

Heavy, Large or Fragile Items 

Some of our products such as lamp posts, furniture and sundial columns may incur extra delivery costs due to the increased weight or size of the item. We will endeavour to contact you with regards to any extra charges you may incur. For Items that require to be delivered on a pallet, the courier is obliged to deliver to the Kerb only, although at the discretion of the driver they may be able to manoeuvre it onto your property. Disposing of the pallet and any packaging is the customer's responsibility. 

Personalised Delivery 

In some circumstances, we will use our own vehicle to deliver, for example when purchasing a sculpture or made to order item. On these occasions, we have a strict policy that requires the recipient to sign for the delivery on a "Check and accept" basis. This, of course, is due to the high costs involved with doing personalised deliveries and ensuring that our customers are satisfied.

Free Delivery 

Items with free delivery are marked with our free delivery banner. Items ordered with Free Delivery will be dispatched within 7-10 working days providing they are in stock, however, at the busiest times of year (i.e. Christmas), this may take longer due to circumstances beyond our control. We will endeavour to contact or inform you whenever any items fall outside this 7-10 working day range. Free delivery is only applicable to orders being sent to mainland UK addresses excluding Ireland, Highlands and Islands.

Christmas Delivery

We will endeavour to dispatch all goods ordered before our annual Christmas shut down on the 23rd of December 2019. For made/prepared to order items, please allow an extended 2-week lead time due to the works Christmas shutdown.

For all regular orders placed after the 15th December, it is difficult to guarantee pre-Christmas delivery. We do rely on national couriers to deliver to our customers and this process is normally completed within 48 hours of dispatch. Please note that couriers can experience slight delays due to the large influx of deliveries at this time of year. 

We may rely on local works to supply or create certain items and this can, at times, cause unexpected delays which are outside of our control. Any potential delay will be advertised with an approximate lead time on our website. Failing this, our customer service team will be in touch at the earliest opportunity to advise any delays or alternatives that are immediately available. 

All orders received after the 23rd of December will be processed after the 4th January 2020, including those with Next Day Delivery.

International Orders 

International shipping enquiries are always a little more complex, therefore we’d prefer to provide a tailored quotation prior to your order. Any orders placed online may require an additional shipping cost as the automated system hasn’t charged the correct shipping fee.  If an additional shipping cost is required, we will endeavour to contact you at the soonest possible opportunity with our most competitive price. Any international delivery would be an uninsured service. Whilst our couriers are very good, we would recommend all international customers to take out insurance, for peace of mind, in case of loss or damage. Any claims for loss, damage etc, will need to be raised directly with the courier, their details will be found on your dispatch email.  Please note that the shipping quote provided to you does not cover any local charges that may be needed for local duties, customs or clearance charges. You will most likely be contact by the courier or your local export agency when the goods have arrived your country. 

Checking goods for damage and notifying Black Country Metal Works

For small deliveries that arrive with carriers you agree to open all boxes and thoroughly check the goods for damage and notify us of any damage within 7 days of the delivery. If we are not notified of damage within 7 days we are unable to claim from either the manufacturer or the carrier. You agree to indemnify us in full for any losses we suffer as a result of your failure to notify us within 7 days. For large deliveries you agree to check the goods for damage before signing the (GDN) delivery note. If you sign for the goods, even if you write the words "Unchecked" or similar on the delivery note, then you are accepting that the goods arrived in good condition and later claims for damages will not be considered. If the driver refuses to wait while you check the goods then you must refuse to accept the delivery and email with the details as soon as possible. If someone else is signing for the goods on your behalf you agree to advise them that the goods must be checked and you accept full responsibility for any loss or damage if they sign on your behalf and fail to check. You agree to indemnify us in full for any losses we suffer as a result of you or your agent accepting goods and signing a delivery note without thoroughly checking the goods for damage.
