FIREPLACE STYLE

Consider the design of your current fireplace and how you want to style it without detracting from the existing features that you love. Or, alternatively, how you can cover up any areas you’re not so keen on! Accessories are ideal either way.

Finishes

COLOURS & FINISHES

Think about what colours and finishes you like. Some people love a chrome metallic or polished brass, whilst others prefer a sleek black. Or maybe you love a mix of them all? There is no ‘wrong’ way to style your home.

Style Preferences

PERSONAL PREFERENCES

Ultimately, how you choose to style your fireplace is up to you. Always be true to what styles, finishes and shapes you love. And don’t worry about whether or not they strictly ‘match’ the period of your existing open fire or log burner.

SCANDI & NORDIC

Scandi & Nordic Fireplace Collection

SCANDI & NORDIC

Inspired by the vast areas of greenery, wide open spaces and white skies surrounding Scandinavian settings, Scandi and Nordic design is all about simplicity and functionality. Think raw woods, clean lines and delicate curves intertwined with sustainability to create an extra relaxed space…

Ideal for easily tending to your open fire or log burner throughout use. We particularly love these featured designs for their Scandi influence, seen within their clean shapes, black finishes and wooden handles. Shop the designs:

Modern “Asher” Fireside Companion Set

Contemporary Sleek Black “Duplex” Two Piece Companion Set

Because who doesn’t love the aesthetic of neatly stacked logs or the smell of freshly cut wood? Circular shapes and wicker are also a common theme throughout Scandi design, which is why we’re loving these log holders and baskets:

Black Round Steel “Barrel” Log Holder

Small Mixed Tone Traditional Log Basket

For those eco-conscious folk out there, a stove fan is the ideal solution. Tying into the Scandi love for sustainability, kinetic fans are a must for keeping your home extra toasty throughout fireplace use. Featured:

Simplicity is at the core of Scandi design, as well as functionality. This simple coal bucket features two integral handles for easy carrying and is extra deep to store coal all season long:

And the final piece of the Scandi puzzle? A simplistic (yet very functional) fire guard. Featured below: Square Simplistic Contemporary Three Fold Fire Guard & Contemporary Black Arched Single Panel Fire Guard

TRADITIONAL

Classic & Traditional Fireplace Collection

Think back to the Victorian and Georgian eras where roaring fireplaces were a key feature in almost every home. Traditional style is all about paying homage to those historical designs, celebrating long-loved metalworking techniques and showcasing classic metal finishes throughout…

Traditional companion sets are all about making fire tending that little bit easier. We love these four-tool sets, which include a pan and brush, a stoker and tongs to ensure safety every step of the way:

Deluxe “Duchess” Iron Fireside Companion Set

“Empress” Polished Brass Fireside Companion Set

Smooth polished brass finishes were a big thing back in the day, which is why we’re loving this log holder for those seeking something a little more classic. Plus, it includes a handle for easy log movement. Win-win:

“Houghton Avenue” Antique Style Log Holder

Used throughout history to keep fires crackling for longer, a set of bellows is a must for any traditional fireplace setting. This particular design features hand-waxed hardwood, brass detailing and PU leather accents:

Traditional Wooden & PU Leather Bellows

Whether you have a coal-fueled fireplace or not, a hammered brass coal scuttle is ideal for adding that extra touch of traditional charm. And, if coal is something you actually need, an ash bucket is an absolute must:

Black Ash Bucket & Lid

To bring everything together (and to keep your carpets or floors free from debris), we’d always recommend a traditionally styled fire guard. Featured below: “Dynasty” Four Fold Fire Screen in Polished Brass & Traditional Enclosed Spark Guard

FUN & QUIRKY

Quirky & Fun Fireplace Collection

FUN & QUIRKY

Add a little spice to your fireplace setting by incorporating some extra quirky pieces into your styling. The ‘dopamine decor’ trend is all about adding some extra fun to your space without compromising on functionality. And we certainly know a thing or two about unique fireside products…

Literally the only companion you need to keep your fire roaring all night long. We’re obsessed with this checkered design, featuring bone china handles, and these uniquely bow-shaped wood tongs:

“The Ludos” Checkered White & Black Companion Set

Black Iron Fireplace Log Tongs

A townhouse within your home? Or a polished steel bucket embossed with the ‘Tree of Life’? It doesn’t get much quirkier than that, in our opinion. Here are two log holders that we’re loving:

“Town House” Iron Log Rack

Large Polished Steel “Tree of Life” Log Bucket

Designed for keeping your matches, kindling or firelighters all in one handy place. But make it that little bit ‘different’. Functional and fun to look at? We’re 100% here for it:

Black Galvanised Firelighter Box

Cast Iron Alligator Match Holder

Quirky doesn’t mean ‘unsafe’, which is why a practical (but still a little bit fun) fire guard is a must. Featured below: “Lignum Vitae” Brushed Gold Fire Guard & Black “Overgrowth” Three Fold Fire Guard

MODERN

Modern & Contemporary Fireplace Collection

MODERN

Chromes, sleek black finishes and angular lines; we love a touch of modern and contemporary style adorning our fireplaces. Modern design is all about simplicity and timeless style, transporting your fireplace straight into the 21st Century (and beyond). Ready to step into the future? We are…

Because modern design 100% still needs to be fully functional and practical. Here are just two of our favourite modern companion sets, complete with shovel, brush and poker for maximum cleanliness and fire safety:

“Contemporary Curved” Pewter Three Piece Companion Set

Contemporary Three Piece Companion Set With Brushed Steel Handles

Simple triangular designs with chrome features and sleek box-like shapes; beautiful and handy. It’s no wonder these log holders are proving to be bestsellers for the more contemporary home:

“The Ternion” Contemporary Log Holder

Black Open Sides “Recipe” Log Holder

Oh-so stylish yet oh-so-practical. Finished in a sleek midnight black, featuring an easy-open lid and complete with ‘MATCH BOX’ text adorning its front. You’ll never lose your fireplace matches ever again with this guy:

Black Metal “Match Box” Holder

For those who still need a scoop (or two) of coal to keep their fire blazing, our modern chrome and pewter hods are an absolute must. This one features a polished antique pewter finish complete with two handles for easy use and movement:

Traditional Antique Pewter Coal Hod

Nothing says ‘modern’ quite like putting safety first. Fire guards are ideal for keeping your floors free from spitting embers, whilst also keeping little ones and pets at a safe distance. Featured below: Black Curved Three Fold Fire Guard & “Rotherington” Polished Stainless Steel Guard

This guide is very much intended as just that; a guide. We suggest chrome for more modern set-ups, but brass can look equally as nice. And wood is perfect for Scandi style, but it’s definitely not a ‘must’ for achieving the overall aesthetic. With that being said, you might be at the stage now where you’ve got your style pinned down, but you’re struggling to decide which finish (or finishes) to go for. Here’s a little more about our most common finishes to help you along the way:

BLACK FINISHES

Certainly the most popular within our collection! Black finishes include sleek powder coatings designed to resist heat (when used correctly), and look great in almost any setting. As they say, black truly does match everything.

Chrome Finishes

CHROME FINISHES

Polished steel, antique pewter and bright chromes. These shades tend to have a more ‘modern’ aesthetic, but also look great in traditional settings when paired with more classic shapes. Plus, chromes always add a little sparkle to any setting.

Brass Finishes

BRASS FINISHES

A more traditional option due to its historical lineage, brass finishes are lovely for classic settings. However, polished brass also looks great in more contemporary spaces and adds a lovely ‘warmth’ to most fireplace settings.

Wood Elements

WOOD ELEMENTS

Many of our fireplace accessories feature wood detailing, adding texture and Scandi style. Woods are great for bringing a fireplace setting alive, leaning into the ‘woodland’ aesthetic and adding a touch of nature to your home.

When it comes to styling your fireplace, there are few other things to consider. Style and aesthetics are one thing, but safety and practicality are the most important features of our fireside accessories collection. Always think about who will be using and interacting with your fireplace throughout use (i.e. children and/or pets), and how safety can be ensured throughout. Our Frequently Asked Questions page and Child Safety Guide should help with this.

Whether you’re looking to upgrade your fireplace set-up or you’re in need of something new to really bring your space together, we hope this guide has given you some direction. Happy fireplace styling - remember to stay safe and cosy!
