Work experience really works
Black Country Metal Works in Wolverhampton & Oswestry has been working with Oswestry Job Centre plus to provide work experience for young people in the town.
Within the last two months, two work experience candidates have been offered full and permanent positions within the company, with yet a third candidate being trialled hopefully in early January.
With a work force now from the local areas reaching around 30, Managing Director Clive Knowles believes that the New Year will bring added growth and continued expansion of employment opportunities throughout 2013.
Mike Stephenson from Oswestry Jobcentre Plus, who arranged the placements, said: "I’m delighted with the employment success that Black Country Metal Works has bought to the area in just the last 5 years after relocating their admin and warehousing in Oswestry. We are now looking to use Black Country Metal Works as a ’Good News’ feature in the national Job Centre Monthly newsletter. The prospect of three permanent job offers for work experience placements is fabulous for Oswestry, long may it continue.
