PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The national dog of Switzerland, the St Bernard is named after a 10th Century monk who founded hospice care for travellers adventuring through the Swiss Alps. Known for their rescue abilities, this breed of dog became a key figure in search and rescue teams and their thick dense coat gave them an advantage during the winter months. Depicted here in sculpture form, this garden ornament has been cast from aluminium and finished in an antique gold finish, which highlights each strand of the dogs coat and short muzzle, whose cheeks lay flat against the mouth. A wonderful guard dog when placed at entranceways, on patios or as a feature piece in gardens.
