Working & Pastoral Group Weathervanes
The Working Group is probably the most known of the seven groups due to their sheer size and personality. Breeds featured within the Working Group are intelligent, physically strong and alert dogs. Bred to assist man, they excel in jobs such as guarding properties, pulling sleds and performing rescue attempts. They are naturally protective and their large size makes them the perfect companion dogs when trained well.
The Pastoral Group, otherwise known as the Herding Group, consists of breeds associated with working cattle, sheep and other livestock, as they have the instinctual ability to control the movement of other animals. Their waterproof, double coats protect them from all elements meaning they can adapt to any location. In general, these highly intelligent dogs make excellent companions and are the most responsive to training exercises.
Each of our weathervanes have been expertly hand-crafted from high quality materials and come supplied with all necessary fixings and a universal bracket for easy horizontal or vertical fitting. Some assembly will be required and a comprehensive list of fitting instructions can be accessed here. As our weathervanes are decorative and handmade from heavy-duty iron, they will not respond in the same way as a wind measurement device or a lightweight sheet steel alternative. When installing, please ensure your location does not obstruct air flow and refer to our comprehensive guide on fitting and positioning for more information.
