One lucky cow that won't be going to Oswestry Cattle Market

This striking and magnificent, hand sculpted cow, has been inspired by the large Ankole Watusi cows of Africa.
Created by the artist in fabricated steel, she is a mammoth beast and has been chosen from the British ironworks Centre, of Oswestry, to represent the fabulous new, £2.5 million Pub, "The Grazing Cow" newly opened by Marston’s, in Lawley, Telford.
Marston’s of Wolverhampton, well known for their legendary Bank’s Beer, have been working together with the British Ironwork Centre of Oswestry, to provide a number of unique and prestigious sculptures to create a sense of drama and to represent a selection of new and exciting pubs and restaurants opening in and around the country. The British Ironworks Centre, based in Oswestry is responsible for the largest and most diverse collection of decorative Ironwork in the country. Created and collected from all over the globe, the centre is home to a wonderful array of life sized, wild safari animals as well as, a marvellous collection of rural, farmyard and domestic animals, sculptures and topiary. The Centre also has an amazing array of ornamental garden furniture, from the simple to the sublime.
The Centre now employs, over 25 members of staff in Oswestry alone, as well as working with other metal sculptors, from around the globe.Seen here, with the cow, is the" Iron Works Centres", creator Mr Clive Knowles, together with Marston’s, Mr David walker.
"We are extremely proud that the British iron works centre is to be part of such an interesting project, and that ultimately it will bring new business and jobs to the town.We love the challenge and at present are now looking to provide Marston’s with an enormous cockerel, for another establishment due to open on the Isle of man, commented Mr Knowles.
