Mother's Day Gift Guide 2019

Mother's Day Gift Guide 2019
By Seonaid McKay 4 months ago 540 Views No comments

From the first day that you’re born, your mum becomes the most important woman in your life. Through every milestone, heartache and achievement, she is the one cheering you on from the side lines and offering you that much needed emotional support. Without her, you probably wouldn’t be half the person you are today so it seems only right that you treat her as best you can on Mothering Sunday. For all those out there who are a little bit stuck with what to get the mum who already has it all, this handy gift guide will certainly give you some inspiration!

Of course T&Cs apply, so do check those out before you put all of your faith in us to get something to you before the 31st of March! We will try our best to make your Mother’s Day perfect, but we cannot be held responsible for the delivery time of your item once it is in our courier’s hands, so please try and leave some breathing room. All products are available while stocks last.

With all the boring, but important, bits out of the way, let’s get to spoiling your mum!

Traditionally, Mother’s Day and Mothering Sunday were held for religious purposes in light of thanking the Virgin Mary. People would visit their ‘mother’ church to participate in a special celebratory service alongside their family, which gave many working children the opportunity to have the day off to spend with their mothers. This often involved collecting flowers and baked goods on the way to the church as peace offerings.

Of course, modern celebrations of Mother’s Day now involve honouring and appreciating our mothers with our time and small, or grand, gifts of gratitude, but that doesn’t mean the traditional elements of the Mother’s Day origin can’t stay alive.

1.) Antique Grey Flower Vase

Simply fill this industrial inspired vase with hand-picked flowers for a wonderful, contemporary take on traditional Mother’s Day flower picking.

2.) Metal Flower Decorations

Our range of metal flower spikes and garden decorations offer the perfect alternative to a traditional bouquet. These flowers require absolutely no watering and will last forever and ever.

3.) Cake Stands

If you really want to push the boat out this year, why not bake your mum an array of homemade goodies and display them on one of our ornate cake stands? The perfect way to stay true to tradition and give your mum something to rave home about.

Our Forge Café and Showroom in Oswestry will also be serving the highest quality afternoon teas and cream teas with fresh homemade scones, sandwiches, and cakes coupled with lashings of tea and coffee. Find out more about our show areas here.
