Receiving Parcels Over Christmas

We don’t know about you, but the festive months are definitely when the most post and packages come through our doors! Sometimes, there is so much that we feel a bit like Harry Potter on Hogwarts’ letter day (yes, it’s genuinely that crazy). As Christmas day gets closer with each passing minute, you’re probably starting to get deliveries on the daily. Whether it’s gifts for your loved ones, cards wishing you good tidings or just some extra treats for yourself, accepting deliveries is probably one of your biggest concerns right now.

Luckily for you, we’ve got some smart solutions and pro-tips to help you navigate this post-heavy season with ease! No more stressing out over who’ll be home to sign for your deliveries. No more worrying about the postman not finding your house. And absolutely no more sleepless nights over the safety of your post and parcels.

Sick and tired of coming home to ‘we’re sorry we missed you!’ slips filling up your post box? We’ve got the perfect solution for you. Our collection of parcel boxes has been specifically designed to hold all of your post and smaller packages, leaving you free to leave your house without the fear of missing that all-important delivery!

Our ‘Goldhay’ designs are ideal for those who want the ability to receive parcels without compromising on safety. These stylish post boxes are available in a range of different finishes to suit your personal style and taste. Each box is fitted with a post aperture as well as an integral hinged flap and lockable latch so all you have to do is leave it unlocked when you’re expecting a package.

Pro tip: leave a padlock inside your parcel box with a note to politely ask your courier to lock up once your package is safe inside!

These contemporary post boxes have been specifically designed for the modern home out there. Available in a variety of different colour finishes, these post boxes feature a large flap coupled with an internal, lockable post aperture plate. As with our ‘Goldhay’, this post box can also be left unlocked whenever you are expecting a parcel.

Post safety is definitely at the top of most people’s priority lists when it comes to receiving your parcels and letters over Christmas! Most of our post box designs, unless otherwise stated, come supplied with a lock and two sets of keys (just in case you lose one of them). Each lock and key is completely unique to the post box so you’ll never have to worry about the security of your mail.

For those looking for a simple yet very stylish post box addition, our wall-mounted post boxes offer practicality, post safety and bundles of style for any home. For those seeking that additional layer of safety, our built-in post boxes are ideal if you have a free wall or pillar. Many of these boxes feature a rear opening door to assure post protection throughout all months of the year.

Looking for something a little more grandiose? Available in a range of different finishes and designs, our free-standing post boxes are perfect for those homes or commercial properties seeking a touch of added splendour. These stylish boxes feature pre-drilled screw holes on the base to allow for easy fixing to your desired surface.

Pro tip: for that extra bit of safety, the bases can also be cemented into the ground. We recommend seeking the advice of a qualified tradesperson before doing any cement work.

Maybe your postman has a habit of always missing out your house or maybe first-time guests never seem to be able find you? No matter what it is that’s stopping people from locating your house with ease this festive season, it’s definitely time for some personalisation!

We offer a complimentary personalisation service for most of our post box designs. From house names and house numbers to anything else in-between, we can personalise your design using a variety of vinyl colours and font styles depending on your personal preference. A personalised post box definitely adds character to any property whilst making it that little bit harder to miss!

When it comes to deliveries, sometimes even the largest parcel box in the world won’t be big enough to fit all your packages. If you can’t be at home to accept deliveries, receiving parcels can become a bit of a nightmare. And, whilst we all love the film, no one wants a nightmare before Christmas.

Luckily for you, we’ve quite literally got the insider scoop on how couriers and deliveries work and now we’re going to share some helpful tips with you! You definitely won’t be missing a parcel this Christmas season with these pro tips:

1.) Leave details when ordering. If you’re making your order over the telephone and you know you won’t be around for delivery, it’s always helpful to leave details with the company that you’re ordering with. For example, if you’ve got a friendly neighbour who is almost guaranteed to be at home, ask if your parcel can be left with them. Alternatively, leave details of a safe place where the items can be left in case you aren’t about.

2.) Leave a note on your door! If you forget or are unable to leave information directly, leave a note on your door asking the courier to leave your parcel in a safe place or with a neighbour (just make sure it’s signed!). Most courier companies will accept this. Please note that we cannot guarantee this will be accepted by every courier, and we do advise contacting the company directly if you’re unsure.

3.) Contact the courier directly. Often, you’ll receive tracking details whenever a parcel is dispatched detailing the courier company due to deliver your item. If you think delivery won’t be possible on the date/time specified in your tracking, it’s definitely worth contacting the courier to arrange a more suitable slot for you. Most couriers are fairly flexible with this and it’s a much quicker process than going through the company you ordered from!

If you need any more help navigating your deliveries this Christmas, feel free to email us or give us a ring! Our team would be more than happy to offer any advice or guidance to the best of their abilities.

Please note that the advice above is based on our personal experience only and we cannot guarantee that every company or courier will work in the same way. For specific advice, we recommend contacting the target company directly.
